TIMOTHY L. CRUMBIE – President, B.S.
Tim is a Registered Professional Geologist in both Kentucky and Tennessee, demonstrating his commitment to excellence in his field. Furthermore, he holds the esteemed designation of Certified Professional Geologist through the renowned American Institute of Professional Geologists (AIPG). Tim’s academic foundation in geology was established with the completion of his Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Kentucky University in 1986. With over 35 years of unwavering dedication to his profession, Tim has honed his expertise and earned a stellar reputation in this field.
From 1987 to 1990, Tim served as a field geologist, undertaking geotechnical investigations, soil and groundwater assessments on RCRA and CERCLA sites, as well as overseeing the installation of groundwater monitoring and recovery systems. Prior to his tenure at Spade Corporation, Tim contributed his knowledge and skills as an environmental inspector at a municipal health department. In this role, he assumed various responsibilities, including reviewing and issuing permits for asbestos abatement, conducting inspections of asbestos abatement sites, serving as a public information officer, and actively participating as a member of the Hazardous Materials Response Team.
Tim’s profound dedication and exceptional contributions propelled him to the position of President at Spade Corporation, a role he assumed in February 2001. Notably, prior to his presidency, Tim served as the Executive Vice President of GeoScience Consultants, where he played a pivotal role in driving the organization’s success. Tim is an esteemed member of the Geological Society of Kentucky (GSK), the National Groundwater Association (NGWA), and the AIPG, holding multiple esteemed positions within the latter organization, including President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Past President. In recognition of his remarkable expertise and leadership qualities, Tim was appointed as the national Vice President for AIPG in 2009.
ROB EUBANKS – Vice President, B.S.
Rob earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Soil Science from Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) in 1993. During his tenure at EKU, Rob served as a research assistant in soil studies and supervised the operations of the soils laboratory. While attending EKU, he secured a position as a field technician at a geotechnical firm, where he conducted soil testing both in the field and in the laboratory. Since joining GeoScience in February 1994, Rob has amassed an extensive range of professional expertise in the environmental sector, culminating in his current role as the Vice President of GeoScience.
Rob has successfully overseen a diverse portfolio of projects across Kentucky and its neighboring states, catering to a wide spectrum of clients including individuals, commercial and industrial enterprises, as well as municipal entities. His project management experience encompasses various environmental investigations such as site assessments and investigations; underground storage tank evaluations and removals; hazardous and non-hazardous waste management; emergency response incidents, soil and groundwater remediation, and wetlands assessment and permitting. Additionally, Rob has been actively involved in stormwater management and permitting, as well as lead-based paint and asbestos inspections and abatement.
In order to stay abreast of the latest advancements in his field, he has consistently pursued continuing education courses in bioremediation, vapor intrusion, stormwater management, and other pertinent environmental topics. Moreover, Rob diligently maintains his 40-hour HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response) certification, inclusive of annual refresher courses. Furthermore, he is certified as a lead and asbestos inspector in Kentucky and maintains an active membership with the National Groundwater Association (NGWA) and the Kentucky Stormwater Association (KSA).
GIL W. CUMBEE – Senior Geologist, B.S.
Gil is a Registered Professional Geologist in Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee, Arkansas, Alabama, Louisiana and Missouri. Gil obtained his B.S. degree in Chemistry with minors in Geology and Biology from Hanover College. He has also completed several graduate-level courses in Kentucky and Oklahoma. Before joining an environmental firm, Gil spent 10 years as a mid-continent Petroleum Geologist. Since 1981, he has served as an environmental project manager responsible for RCRA, hazardous and non-hazardous UST investigations and remediation projects.
Gil joined the GeoScience family as a full-time project manager in August 1995. Since that time, he has managed all aspects of a number of underground storage tank sites, and in 2001, was named Vice President of the company. Gil is a Certified Monitoring Well Driller in Kentucky, West Virginia and Tennessee and has been a member of the Geological Society of America (GSA) and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) since 1978. He is also an active member of the National Ground Water Association (NGWA), the American Institute of Professional Geologists (AIPG), and the Geological Society of Kentucky (GSK).
MARLENE H. JAMES – Office Manager
Marlene worked as an accounting clerk for Spade Corporation from 1983 until 1992, when she joined the GeoScience family as Office Manager. Prior to working for Spade, Marlene gained applicable experience working in private and public sectors. She has over 30 years of experience in the accounting field and has extensive experience with fund reimbursement projects.
